Dear neighbors,
Many thanks to those of you who joined us on Monday at Black Sheep Coffee! Rep. Anne Claflin, Majority Leader Ryan Winkler, and I had a great time talking about the 2019 legislative session with community members.
I have another town hall coming up on Monday, June 24 with Rep. Ruth Richardson, Sen. Matt Klein, and Rep. Frank Hornstein. I hope to see you there!
Lawns to Legumes Bill Signing
On Tuesday, I attended a ceremonial bill signing for the Lawns to Legumes bill, which establishes a program to help homeowners convert their lawns into pollinator-friendly habitat. I’ve championed this legislation for several years, so it was exciting to finally see it signed into law!
Agriculture Task Force
Last week I met with other members of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Agriculture Task Force to discuss agricultural issues facing communities across the country. We focused on dairy policy, industrial hemp, and the impact of tariffs on the agricultural economy. I appreciated the opportunity to work on possible solutions with other legislators.
I’d also like to congratulate our high school graduates! I wish all of you the best on your next adventures.
Sincerely,
Rick Hansen
State Representative
