Dear neighbors,
I hope you can join us tonight for a town hall in Mendota Heights. Rep. Ruth Richardson, Sen. Matt Klein, and Rep. Frank Hornstein and I will share information about the 2019 legislative session, answer questions from community members, and discuss ideas for moving Minnesota forward.
LCCMR Public Hearings
The Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR), a bipartisan group that provides funding recommendations for the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, will meet several times this week. We’ll be hearing presentations from individuals and groups who’ve applied for support. An agenda for each of the public hearings is available here.
Addressing Concerns about PolyMet Permit
Recently released documents have raised concerns about the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA)’s handling of a permit for PolyMet. In response, I’ve called on the Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) to conduct an independent, nonpartisan investigation. You can read my statement about the issue here.
Kaposia Days
The annual Kaposia Days Parade will take place this Friday, June 28 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. The parade begins at the intersection of 12th Avenue N. and 3rd Street in South St. Paul. A map of the route is available here.
