Dear neighbors,
Happy Fourth of July! I hope you have a safe and enjoyable holiday with family, friends, and neighbors.
We owe a great deal to those who’ve fought for our country and those who’ve fought to improve it. The Fourth of July reminds us to thank our service members, veterans, and their families and those who continue working hard to ensure that everyone has access to the freedoms, rights, and opportunities that we cherish.
Minnesotans also remember the brave soldiers who fought in the battle of Gettysburg, which took place on July 1-3, 1863. Members of the First Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment displayed extraordinary heroism on the second day of the battle. You can read more about the First Minnesota here.
