SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed the Transportation budget following a bipartisan compromise reached with the Senate. The legislation invests in all modes of transportation across the state and includes two bills authored by Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL – South St. Paul).
“I am proud that legislation I championed was included in this budget,” said Rep. Hansen. “Allowing Minnesotans to request a replacement Social Security card online is a simple change with significant benefits, and I am excited to see Private Joseph Marthaler honored in West St. Paul.”
Rep. Hansen’s legislation, originally introduced as HF 1318, will allow Minnesotans to request replacement Social Security cards online. This could make the process much quicker and easier. His other bill, first introduced as HF 29, designates a bridge on Highway 52 in West St. Paul as “Private Joseph Marthaler Memorial Bridge.” Private Marthaler was killed in action during World War II.
