SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Legislative Auditor James Nobles announced today that he will retire later this year. Rep. Rick Hansen (DFL – South St. Paul) released the following statement:
“As a member of the Legislative Audit Commission, I’ve worked closely with James Nobles for many years. He works tirelessly to provide nonpartisan oversight of the legislature and accountability in state government. In his 37 years as Legislative Auditor, he has demonstrated exemplary professionalism and commitment to good governance. Thanks to his stewardship, the Office of the Legislative Auditor has been recognized as a model for government oversight throughout the U.S. I look forward to working with him in the remaining weeks of his exceptional career and wish him the best in the future.”
Rep. Hansen is chair of the Executive Committee that will work to select the next Legislative Auditor.
