Dear neighbors,
Frontline workers can now apply for bonus payments! Hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans – including health care workers, first responders, child care providers, food service workers, retail workers, and more – are eligible for these bonuses. To view eligibility criteria and apply, please visit frontlinepay.mn.gov/submit. Applications are due on Friday, July 22.
Thanks to legislation I authored, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is providing financial assistance to communities with emerald ash borer (EAB) issues. $2.4 million worth of grants is available to help local governments purchase new trees, equipment, and other supplies. You can find more details here.
There are a few Juneteenth celebrations taking place in our area on Sunday, June 19. One of them, an event hosted by the Residents of Color Collective (ROCC), will take place at the Dodge Nature Center from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will be a solidarity walk, food trucks, vendors, and music.
The Clark Grace United Church of Christ in South St. Paul is also holding a Juneteenth event. It will start at 6:00 p.m. with a community conversation.
Kaposia Days is just around the corner! This annual event will take place on June 24, 25, and 26. There will be a parade, a craft and flea market, a car show, activities for kids, and more. You can find more information about this event at kaposiadays.org.
