Rep. Rick Hansen Appointed to the Council of State Government’s Energy and Environment Committee
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – This month, Representative Rick Hansen (DFL – South St. Paul) was appointed by the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives to serve on the Council of State Government Midwestern Legislative Conference’s Energy and Environment Committee. The Council of State Governments is a nationwide nonpartisan association of state officials. CSG holds conferences and other events to promote the exchange of ideas to help state officials craft public policy.
“Protecting our environment and natural resources doesn’t stop at Minnesota’s borders. What we do in our state affects the Midwest, our country, and the globe,” said Rep. Hansen. “That’s why I’m proud to be appointed to the Energy and Environment Committee and excited to work with legislators from the Midwest on how we can find solutions to the problems that plague our air, water, soil, and wildlife.”
Rep. Hansen was first elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2004 and chairs the Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee. He serves as co-chair of the Legislative Citizen-Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR) and has served on the Minnesota Lessard Outdoor Heritage Council.
