ST. PAUL – Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, issued the following statement regarding the release of the state's new economic forecast on Friday, which calls for a $1.4 billion surplus for the upcoming biennium, starting in July 2017.
“It's good to see our economy is heading in the right direction, but it's also a bit surprising to see surpluses continue at a time the ag. sector is facing significant challenges,” Anderson said. “The big thing is tax relief should be a top priority with surplus dollars in the upcoming biennium, along with putting more money toward improving our roads and bridges.”
