Dear Neighbor,
People who are interested in learning more about the new 40 Square health insurance plan available to ag. workers are invited to attend an informational meeting 4 p.m. this Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Baymont Inn & Suites in Albany (820 Shamrock Lane).
An overview of this subject was provided in a column I recently submitted to area newspapers. The gist of it is that 40 Square is a member-owned and self-funded option for obtaining health insurance. Enrollment is underway to sign up for coverage starting Jan. 1 of 2018. To be eligible, one must produce an ag commodity and file either a Schedule F or a Form 1065 on their tax return.
Click here for more details about this program in my column or click here for the 40 Square site. I hope you are able to attend Wednesday’s meeting if this opportunity may be helpful.
Also, just a quick reminder about the meetings in St. Cloud and Morris to address MnDOT’s ditch-mowing policies. I touched on this subject in an email last week and in a newspaper column I submitted this morning.
The St. Cloud meeting will take place 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the St. Cloud MnDOT Conference Center (3725 12th St. N.) The Morris meeting will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the University of Minnesota Morris Science Auditorium (600 E. 4th St.). Anyone with questions can call my office for more information at (651) 296-4317.
Sincerely,
Paul
