ST. PAUL – State Rep. Paul Anderson, R-Starbuck, performed his eighth oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 93rd Legislature was installed at the Capitol in St. Paul.
Anderson was re-elected to the House in November. He serves the new, horizontally configured District 12A, stretching from Ortonville and Beardsley in the state’s western elbow to St. Rosa and Freeport in the east.
“It’s been enjoyable meeting people in the new portions of our redesigned district and I look forward to representing them in the House,” Anderson said. “The dynamics at the Capitol changed with the results of the November election. I hope we are able to achieve true compromise on important actions we will take on this year’s most important issues – particularly with the state’s surplus of $17.6 billion where we have an opportunity to provide significant tax relief.”
Anderson recently gained an appointment to continue serving as the lead Republican on the House Agriculture Finance and Policy Committee for the 2023-24 biennium. He has been the top Republican on agriculture the last two years and has served related committees throughout his House tenure. In addition, Anderson will serve on House committees related to sustainable infrastructure and property taxes.
Anderson said he welcomes input from local citizens throughout the year, particularly during the legislative session. He can be reached by emailing rep.paul.anderson@house.mn.gov or by calling (651) 296-4317. Anderson also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them on his personal page at the official House website: www.house.mn.
