ST. PAUL – Thanks to the COVID pandemic, public access to the State Capitol – and by extension, their state lawmakers – had been severely limited. But for the first time in years the entire Capitol complex has been reopened to the public, and State Representative Paul Torkelson (R-Hanska) is inviting local residents to visit the next time they’re in St. Paul.
“It’s exciting that we’re open for business again,” Torkelson said. “My job is much more enjoyable when I can talk to constituents face to face, and we are beginning to see more and more residents stop by the office.”
Torkelson said numerous local residents and groups have already met with him in his office or plan to do so in the coming weeks. They include Brown, Redwood, and Blue Earth County commissioners and staff, Minnesota Farmers Union members, local mutual insurance company members, local church officials, and members of the Minnesota Turkey Board.
If you would like to visit Rep. Torkelson in his St. Paul office, he strongly encourages you to make the trip. To schedule a visit, please call 651-296-9303 or email his legislative assistant Allie Spellman at allie.spellman@house.mn.gov.
