Dear neighbor,
This week I had the honor of being sworn in for a third term as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as your state Representative. Although my party is no longer in control of the Minnesota House, I still plan to work hard every day on your behalf.
For the 2013-2014 legislature, I was chosen by my caucus leadership to serve as the Republican Lead on the Civil Law Committee and to serve as a member of the Energy Policy and Judiciary Finance & Policy committees.
While I hope to be able to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to help Minnesota, I am already concerned by the proposals put forth by DFL legislators. Some of the proposals that relate to taxes, mortgage foreclosure, and raising the minimum wage have the potential to make an already precarious economic situation worse for our state. I plan to follow these proposals closely as they move through the legislative process.
Due to the 2012 redistricting process, the district I now serve, House District 35B, is somewhat different than the district I served my previous two terms. My new district includes Andover, part of Coon Rapids, and part of Ramsey. Ham Lake is no longer in my district.
