ST. PAUL – House Speaker-designate Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) announced today that Rep. Peggy Scott (R-Andover) has been appointed to be the chair of the House Civil Law & Data Practices Committee for the 2015 and 2016 legislative sessions.
“I’m honored to be given the responsibility to oversee a committee in charge of protecting the rights, liberties, and personal information of Minnesotans,” said Scott. “Given the recent privacy breaches by MNsure, I plan to have robust oversight of how the personal information of Minnesotans is kept by state agencies.”
Scott will officially become chair of the House Civil Law & Data Practices Committee when she is sworn in for her fourth term on January 6, 2015.
