St. Paul, MN – On Aug. 1, local nursing homes received a significant amount of new state funding as part of a bipartisan agreement to stabilize a sector of the economy facing financial hardship. State Representative Jerry Newton (DFL-Coon Rapids) announced a local nursing home will also receive another significant one-time payment on August 1, 2024.
“Nursing home residents deserve to be supported, as do the hard-working staff who care for them,” said Rep. Jerry Newton. “I was pleased to vote ‘yes’ for investments to benefit both the residents and workers, and now the first round of funding has been released to nursing homes across the state who have been hit hard financially the last few years.”
Of these initial investments, $311,417 has been delivered on August 1 to Park River States Care Center in Coon Rapids in Rep. Newton’s district. In addition, the same amount will be delivered to the facility on August 1, 2024.
