St. Paul –Speaker-designate Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) and Majority Leader-elect Joyce Peppin (R-Rogers) announced the new members of the House Republican Caucus leadership team Tuesday. The House Republican Caucus elected Rep. Dan Fabian (R-Roseau) Majority Caucus Whip for the 2015-16 Legislative Session. The role of the whip is to communicate information to other members of a party caucus during floor debate and prior to votes.
In addition, members of the House Republican Caucus elected six Assistant Majority Leaders. First term representative-elect Dave Baker (R-Willmar), Representative Deb Kiel (R-Crookston), Representative Ron Kresha (R-Little Falls), Representative Kathy Lohmer (R-Stillwater), Representative Tim Sanders (R-Blaine), and Representative Chris Swedzinski (R-Ghent) were all chosen to serve as Assistant Majority Leaders.
“I'm excited to have Representative-elect Baker, Representative Fabian, Representative Kiel, Representative Kresha, Representative Lohmer, Representative Sanders, and Representative Swedzinski join our leadership team. These thoughtful, experienced representatives come from communities across our state and have stepped forward to help lead our new House Republican Majority. We will work together with Minnesotans to grow good-paying jobs, protect our seniors’ quality of life, give our students a world-class education and prioritize roads and bridges,” said Speaker-designate Daudt.
“Our new team of leaders and our entire caucus look forward to listening to and working beside Minnesotans to prioritize the needs of our state. House Republicans understand all of Minnesota matters — not just one part of the state or another — and we are proud to bring those priorities forward over the next two years,” said Majority Leader-elect Peppin.
