Dear Neighbors,
This weekend we celebrate Veterans Day, a time for Americans to remember and pay tribute to all of our veterans and active military who have selflessly served our nation. While all year long we are thankful for those brave men and women who protect our freedoms at home and around the world, this holiday gives us a special opportunity to thank the veterans in our lives.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to these heroes. Many of us know someone in uniform and understand the selfless commitment they make, as well as the toll it can take on the families and loved ones who support them.
Additionally, a supportive community is vital to help our veterans and military families. I would encourage those interested in helping veterans to get involved and find opportunities in our community to give back to those who have served. There are many ways to volunteer whether through community outreach programs or through the Veterans Affairs office. The Department of Veterans Affairs website also has more information about volunteering.
So once again, thank you to those of you have answered the call to serve! As proud and free Americans, we are forever indebted to you.
Happy Veterans Day.
