Dear Neighbor,
Minnesota Monthly has named Alexandria 2019’s Best Minnesota Town! The editorial team for the magazine asked the question, “Which town most embodies the Spirit of Minnesota?”
Out of many entries from towns and cities across the state, Alexandria was chosen as the Best Minnesota Town, in part thanks to the city’s commitment to education and the future by building a new, state-of-the-art high school, which opened in 2014, as well as our incredible residents, like Emersyn Harris, who in 2011 started Cards for Kids, which sends cards to kids battling cancer.
Reed Fischer, senior editor of Minnesota Monthly had this to say about Alexandria: “I’m excited to announce Alexandria as Minnesota Monthly’s 2019 Best Minnesota Town as it truly embodies the spirit of our state. It’s a beautiful year-round destination with a rich history and a bright future.”

This new distinction confirms what I’ve always said – I truly do represent the best!
