SAINT PAUL, MN – Representative Mary Franson, R-Alexandria, took the oath of office to begin her seventh term Tuesday at the beginning of the 2023 legislative session. Franson will represent the new District 12B which includes the eastern part of Douglas County, as well as northeastern Pope County, and portions of northern Stearns County. Cities in the district include Carlos, Nelson, Osakis, Alexandria, Forada, Westport, Villard, Sauk Centre, Melrose, Meire Grove, and Greenwald.
Prior to the start of session, Franson was appointed to serve as the Republican lead on the Sustainable Infrastructure Committee. She will also serve on the Capital Investment and Human Services Finance Committees.
“It is an honor to once again represent the best at the Capitol,” said Franson. “There is a lot of work to do this session. With a $17.6 billion surplus, it is clear our state has a taxing problem. We must return Minnesotans’ hard-earned tax dollars in the form of tax relief for families, including ending the tax on Social Security. At a time when families are struggling to pay their gas, grocery, and energy bills, we need to make our state more affordable for all.”
Constituents can contact Franson at 651-296-3201 or by email at rep.mary.franson@house.mn.gov. Her office is located on the third floor of the State Office Building in room 303. Mail can be sent to:
