Legislative Update 01.10.25

Franson Banner

Dear friends and neighbors,

I am blessed to be starting my 8th term as your state representative in St. Paul this upcoming week. I am thankful for your continued support and trust in me as your representative.

As you may have heard, Democrats lost one seat due to a residency violation, putting the Republicans in the majority 67-66. Democrats have since announced that they are refusing to work under the new Republican majority, because we created a power-sharing agreement for the 67-67 tie. However, they are still going to collect their paychecks while refusing to show up for work. Where else can you pull that off? This is a great example of their fraudulent behavior working to serve themselves over you.

The good news is that the Democratic trifecta is officially over. However, we're about to begin a legislative session unlike anything we've seen before.

Whether we officially begin the session next Tuesday or not, I will be at work for you and our community by striving to achieve transparency and accountability, especially as we work to tackle fraud such as this.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable from your state representatives and I want to personally assure you that no matter what happens on Tuesday, myself and my GOP colleagues are here to work for you!

Here is an article from KSTP for more information.
