Dear neighbor,
On Wednesday, Governor Dayton gave his State of the State Address before a joint session of the legislature. Frankly, I found the speech to be quite disappointing.
After raising taxes by $2.1 billion, enthusiastically approving largest spending increase in state history, authorizing the construction of a $90 million office building for state senators, and overseeing the implementation of Obamacare in Minnesota that will cost 280,000 Minnesotans their health plans, I wish Governor Dayton had taken more responsibility with the damage his policies have done to Minnesota families.
On Thursday, House Democrats announced a compromise bill relating to medical marijuana legalization. From my initial reading of the language, it sounds like there is a lot of room for abuse of marijuana. I remain strongly opposed to legalizing marijuana in Minnesota.
