News Release
ST. PAUL, MN –The Public Facilities Authority (PFA) announced Monday that they have approved a new round of grants and loans to cities statewide including the City of Fertile. Fertile is set to receive $ 311,558 for water main replacement and hydrant extension.
Financing for the project is provided through the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority as part of a $122 million round of loans and grants for water and infrastructure projects throughout Minnesota recently announced for the first half of 2020.
"I am glad to see this funding go towards this incredibly important project in the City of Fertile," said Rep. Deb Kiel, R-Crookston. "The PFA is a great asset to communities across Minnesota and I have been proud to support it throughout my time at the Legislature. This latest award announcement will be a great benefit to the people of Fertile and other communities across the state."
The PFA administers and oversees the financial management of three revolving loan funds and other programs that help local units of government construct facilities for clean water, drinking water, and transportation infrastructure projects. These PFA programs allow local governments to access low-interest loans to complete these projects at a saving for local taxpayers.
