“Our state pensions remain significantly underfunded in their ability to meet the long-term promises we have made to our public employees. The hardworking taxpayers of Minnesota are being asked to contribute nearly $30 million per year in additional money to help shore up state pension plans. As time moves on, it will only become more difficult to meet future obligations. Real reforms are needed and unfortunately, this bill treats only the symptoms instead of the fundamental cause for the shortfalls."
