St. Paul – Minnesota’s 2017 Legislative Session officially began January 3 with Joe Schomacker (R-Luverne) and 132 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
“Representing the people of southwestern Minnesota is truly a privilege,” Schomacker said. “We have plenty of work to do this session, and I’m ready to work hard for our district.”
Most of Rep. Schomacker’s work during the first months of session will take place in House committees. Along with being named Chairman of the Minnesota House Health and Human Services Reform Committee, Schomacker will also serve on the Health and Human Services Finance and Agriculture Finance committees.
“I’d like to encourage residents to contact me with any questions or concerns that they have, and if they are ever in the Metro Area during session to please stop by and visit,” Schomacker said.
Schomacker can be reached by phone at (651) 296-5505. He can also be contacted via e-mail at rep.joe.schomacker@house.mn, or via U.S. Mail at 509 State Office Building, St. Paul, MN 55155.
Rep. Schomacker also plans to send email updates to interested constituents again this year, where he can share his thoughts on what is happening in and around the State Capitol and in southwestern Minnesota.
