ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, took his fourth oath of office to serve in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 90th Legislature convened at the Capitol to begin the 2017 session.
Swedzinski recently was named chairman of the newly created House Subcommittee on Mining, Forestry, and Tourism. He also is serving Government Operations and Elections; Rules and Legislative Administration; Commerce and Regulatory Reform; and Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance.
“The start of the new Legislative session brings optimism and anticipation for helping the people of Minnesota,” Swedzinski said. “Legislators spent the last several months talking about the issues with people in our respective districts and now we are back in St. Paul ready to dig in. It is a humbling responsibility to serve in the House and I look forward to taking on the challenges we face as I continue representing the citizens of District 16A to the best of my ability.”
Swedzinski said he welcomes input from local citizens throughout the year, particularly during the legislative session. He can be reached by emailing rep.chris.swedzinksi@house.mn, or by calling (651) 296-5374. Swedzinski also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them at his official state website: www.house.mn/16a.
