ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, issued the following statement regarding potential foreign tariffs on major Minnesota agriculture exports such as pork and soybeans.
“Farmers already are operating on razor-thin margins,” Swedzinski said. “Agriculture is a major driver of our state’s economy and farm families count on being able to earn an honest day’s living so they can put food on the table. We cannot afford to have foreign affairs put us in an even tougher spot and I encourage the President to negotiate in the best interests for agriculture and mining trade.”
