GHENT – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, issued the following statement after an economic update from Minnesota Management & Budget issued Tuesday indicates state revenue for 2018 is $348 million more than projected in February.
“This is great news as tax relief passed at the state and federal levels remain key factors in spurring economic growth,” Swedzinski said. “The $650 million tax bill we led to enactment in Minnesota this biennium has left more money in people’s pockets, which, in turn, has resulted in more money moving through the local economy. The approach we have taken in the Minnesota House the last two years is producing fantastic results and it is great to see this continued growth. More work remains, but our state is in great shape now and the future looks bright.”
