ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, issued the following statement Tuesday regarding legislation (H.F. 700/S.F. 850) Democrats are proposing which would raise Minnesota’s renewable energy standard to 100 percent carbon-free by 2045. Swedzinski is the Republican lead on the House Energy and Climate Finance and Policy Division.
“I’m very concerned what this means to businesses and families across our state as prices increase for their energy needs,” Swedzinski said. “But also, agriculture and industry are right in the sights for these extreme environmentalists and I’m very concerned about what this means for the future of our ability to compete for jobs and industry in southwest Minnesota and across our state.”
