ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, issued the following statement regarding House Democrats announcing the formation of a new Climate Action Caucus. Swedzinski is the lead Republican on the House Energy and Climate Finance and Policy Division.
“Minnesotans count on safe, reliable, and affordable energy to protect us from some of the nation’s harshest elements,” Swedzinski said. “Proposals House Democrats pushed in the 2019 session would have taken us backward in all three of those areas, heaping expensive tax increases, fees, requirements and policies on people in our state. Minnesotans used to enjoy some of our country’s lowest energy prices, but now our energy costs are above the national average.”
