Rep. Swedzinski sworn into House

Tuesday, January 5, 2021

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, performed the oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday as the 92nd Legislature was installed at the Capitol.

Swedzinski was re-elected to the House in November. He represents District 16A, encompassing most of Lyon County and portions of Lac qui Parle, Redwood and Yellow Medicine. He recently was selected to retain his position as the lead Republican on the House Energy and Climate Finance and Policy Division, in addition to serving on the Taxes Committee.

“It’s an honor to represent the good people of Southwest Minnesota and return common sense and our rural values to St. Paul,” Swedzinski said. “I’ll be working hard to represent interests of agriculture, small business and families across the state and it’s a great honor, again, to be sworn in here in St. Paul.”

Swedzinski said he welcomes input from local citizens throughout the year, particularly during the legislative session. He can be reached by emailing rep.chris.swedzinksi@house.mn, or by calling (651) 296-5374. Swedzinski also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them at his official state website: www.house.mn/16a

As a COVID-19 precaution, Tuesday’s swearing-in ceremony was conducted with many House members participating remotely from their legislative offices instead of in the chamber as is tradition.
