ST. PAUL – State Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, recently presented Brad Gillingham with a House Resolution, congratulating the Minneota resident for his recent induction into the USA Powerlifting Hall of Fame.
The House Resolution, in part, recognized Gillingham for his six International Powerlifting Federation championships, his 14 USA Powerlifting titles and 34 victories at major events, along with numerous world records he set both in “open” and “masters” categories.
Gillingham previously was named to halls of fame for the IPF, the IPF North American Powerlifting Federation, and the Minnesota chapter of the National Strength Coaches Association.
“Congratulations to Brad for carving out a tremendous powerlifting career, Swedzinski said. “The hard work and dedication it took from Brad to reach his level of success is truly remarkable. This House Resolution is just one more way of celebrating his latest honor and publicly recognizing his accomplishments throughout the years.”
The House Resolution also notes Gillingham is the son of a former Green Bay Packers guard – the late Gale Gillingham – and a graduate of both Little Falls High School and St. Cloud State University.
