SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Today, Rep. Peter Fischer (DFL – Maplewood) visited a community vaccination event held at Century College in White Bear Lake. He joined Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Commissioner Jan Malcolm, Century College President Angelia Millender, and Dr. Zeke McKinney to encourage eligible Minnesotans to get a COVID-19 booster shot to maximize their protection against COVID-19.
“If you haven’t gotten your COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot yet, now is the perfect time,” said Rep. Fischer. “I encourage all Minnesotans who are eligible to get their shots at one of the many locations in our area. It’s the most effective step we can take to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities and to ensure that Minnesotans can gather safely this holiday season.”
Minnesotans who are 5 years old or older can be vaccinated for COVID-19, and those who are 16 years old or older should get a booster shot when they become eligible. People who received the Pfizer or Modera COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for a booster shot six months after they receive their second dose. Those who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can get a booster shot two months later. The state’s Vaccine Locator Map can help Minnesotans find providers that offer COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots.
