Dear Neighbors,
Here is an update on the latest news from St. Paul.
I am a coauthor on a bill introduced by House Republicans this week to address the widespread fraud in the CCAP program identified by the nonpartisan Legislative Auditor. The bill is meant to make sure our public programs, and CCAP in particular, are working for the people they are meant to help instead of spending millions of dollars on those perpetrating fraud.
So far the bill has not received a hearing, but I am hopeful that we can get bipartisan support for these commonsense solutions and move this bill through the committee process. We need to make sure taxpayer dollars are going where they were meant to go instead of being given away to those perpetrating fraud.
I had great conversations with constituents from MAPE and AFSCME who came to visit for MAPE and AFSCME Day at the Capitol! I always enjoy visiting with constituents here in St. Paul.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your family on a matter of state government. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-4346 or by email at rep.brian.johnson@house.mn.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Brian
