St. Paul, MN – Representative Brian Johnson (R-Cambridge) issued the following statement regarding the recent confirmation of Avian Influenza in poultry flocks in Minnesota.
“Chicken and turkey are still safe to eat. Our poultry farmers need our support. In 2015, our poultry farmers lost 9 million birds. Today, we have better testing and more research available to understand this disease. We continue to work with Minnesota’s Department of Agriculture to navigate this disease in our poultry. I am thankful for all of our agricultural workers and am thinking of our poultry farmers as they navigate the Avian flu.
