Dear Neighbors,
It’s time for spring! Okay, maybe not quite yet, but it’ll feel that way this weekend. I’m planning to be home and might even fire up the grill. We don’t get too many chances in the middle of February to spend time outside in short sleeves, so I’m planning to take advantage of the opportunity.
We are still working on the budget and moving bills through committee. I am working on a bill that doesn't allow the State Of Minnesota to work with companies that discriminate against Israeli companies.
There has been a global movement to boycott, divest, and sanction Israeli companies and our Federal government has passed laws to stop this movement. This bill has passed 16 states and it is good legislation that the State of Minnesota should not subsidize discrimination.
I am also working on tax credits for education and soon I'll be convening the Child Protection Task Force to address the issues related to the maltreatment of kids. There is still a lot of work to be done for our youth, and I am happy to keep working on the issue.
Have a great weekend, and good luck to our winter sports teams entering the playoff stretch!
Ron
