RELEASE: Rep. Kresha Passes Anti-Discrimination Legislation

Thursday, February 23, 2017

ST. PAUL, MN – On Thursday, Rep. Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, passed his bill, HF400, off the House floor with a bipartisan 98-28 vote. The legislation bars the state of Minnesota from engaging in business contracts with companies or organizations who discriminate against Israeli companies.

“There has been a global movement to boycott, divest, and sanction Israeli companies and our federal government has passed laws to stop this initiative,” said Kresha. “Bills similar to mine have already passed in 16 states, and I’m happy to see Minnesota take a stand against the subsidizing of discrimination. Taxpayers need the peace of mind to know their hard-earned tax dollars aren’t being used to support intolerant businesses and organizations.”

Following its passage in the House, HF400 now heads to the Minnesota Senate.
