Neighbors,
First of all, be safe this weekend. Mother Nature will hurl a strong weather system through the upper Midwest and our area may be impacted. One recommendation I have is to download the MN 511 app for your smartphone. This is a great travel app – especially when roads are treacherous. And please help your neighbors, especially the elderly, dig out.
This week I continue my focus on sparking innovation and helping entrepreneurs bring their ideas into a start-up business. One of the best ways to build communities and attract a workforce is with organic business growth.
I have introduced a couple small business growth bills that will offer Angel Tax credits for start-up ventures and entrepreneurs. Our area has a tremendous amount of potential and we need to keep supporting great ideas. However, too often regulations intended to curb “big business” practices squelch innovation.
Additionally, I am supporting broadband expansion, as I have for six years, into our rural unserved and under-served areas. With equal access for broadband, our communities can begin to explore innovative tele-medicine, manufacturing improvements and agriculture efficiencies. These advancements can bring jobs and community growth.
Lastly, as I have done in the past, I am promoting Fish Fry Fridays. Take some time to meet your neighbors and friends at a local fish fry. The companionship is great and the generosity to your local cause is much appreciated.
Set your clocks a head this Sunday and look for Spring soon.
Until next time,
Ron
