ST. PAUL — State Representative Ron Kresha, R- Little Falls, issued the following statement responding to a Star Tribune story featuring a video by Rep. Jeremy Munson:
“Representative Munson's recent video encouraging people in need of insulin to go to Walmart was reckless and minimized the seriousness of the situation in which many families find themselves.
“House Republicans do not support this reckless advice, Representative Munson is not a member of the House Republican Caucus and does not speak for House Republicans. Furthermore, he is not a doctor and it was wrong of him to attempt to give medical advice.
“If you need insulin but cannot afford it, call your physician. Minnesota’s health plans have taken their own steps to limit the costs of insulin for enrollees and all three Minnesota insulin manufacturers have programs available to provide free insulin to people who otherwise would have no way of affording their medicine. When it comes to your health care: listen to your doctor, not a politician."
