St. Paul, MN – Representative Ron Kresha’s bill providing improvement to the City of Swanville’s water system is to be heard in the Capital Investment Committee on February 24.
The bill, HF 2884, provides more than $3 million from bond proceeds to fund the Public Facilities Authority. The money will be used for Swanville to design, construct, engineer and equip capital improvements to the city’s drinking water system.
“With this hearing, Swanville is one step closer to getting the upgraded system they need. This system will ensure that the water in Swanville remains clean and continues to help the city be a healthy place to be,” Kresha said.
The bill also sets aside funding for ground-level water storage tanks and pumping pressure systems to replace the existing tower. The current water tower would be removed, and wells would be installed.
