St. Paul, MN – The cost of an education at Minnesota’s private schools continues to rise. Parents are often unable to provide the best learning environment for their children due to their financial situation.
Representative Ron Kresha (R-Little Falls) is helping students create pathways of success for themselves by building an education savings account.
As part of HF4744, an education savings account is created for students to use toward an eligible nonpublic school where a student can fulfill compulsory educational requirements, or the student can use the money from the savings account at a postsecondary institution.
“This fund provides options for Minnesota families,” Kresha said. “A student is not limited by financial status to get a quality education while in a K-12 or college environment. By creating an educational savings account, students are equipped to become educated at the school of their choice.”
A student who utilizes an education savings fund to attend a nonpublic school can use any leftover money to fund higher education tuition.
