Dear friends,
It was great to be at Royalton and Pierz Elementary school today to read to elementary students as a part of "Love to Read" month. Encouraging our children to read at a young age is one of the best things we can do to foster future learning and success in school.
Other updates from Saint Paul:
Constituent Meetings
This week's constituent visits included:
I also had the chance to attend the Minnesota Corn Growers Legislative Reception at the Crowne Plaza on Wednesday. It was an important reminder about the impact Minnesota's Corn Growers have on our state's economy, and just how much corn, and the agriculture industry as a whole means to Minnesota.
On Wednesday, I attended a reception at the Governor's mansion with many other legislators. I had a chance to spend some time with Lori Swanson, the Attorney General and discuss how public prosecution aid is distributed to out-state MN.
Economic Development Committee
On Thursday, February 21st, I received notice from Speaker Thissen that I had been appointed to the Council of State Governments Economic Development Committee along with Rep. Tim Mahoney and Rep. Karen Clark.
The Council on State Governments is a non-partisan, region-based organization that provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and other insights to assist legislators and governors alike to help shape public policy. I thank Speaker Thissen for the opportunity to serve on this committee.
As always, I welcome your thoughts and opinions on the issues being discussed at the Capitol. Please send your thoughts to rep.ron.kresha@house.mn or call my office at 651-296-4247.
Have a great weekend,
Ron Kresha
