RELEASE: Kresha elected Assistant Majority Leader

Wednesday, December 3, 2014
ST. PAUL, MN—Representative Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, was elected Assistant Majority Leader Tuesday, as Republicans rounded out their leadership team that will assist House Speaker-designate Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, and Majority Leader-elect Joyce Peppin, R-Rogers, who were elected by their Republican colleagues last month. Representative Kresha was first elected in 2012, and officially begins his second term on January 06th, when the legislature convenes for the 2015 Legislative Session.

"With our leadership team in place, I'm looking forward to a productive session that addresses priorities Minnesota families care about most," Kresha said. "I'm humbled to have earned the trust of my colleagues to serve as a member of our leadership team, and am ready to get to work as we start the 2015 session."

"Representative Kresha has quickly established himself as a leader in our caucus on many of the important issues facing Greater Minnesota including long-term care for seniors and job creation" Speaker-designate Daudt said. "I'm excited to have Rep. Kresha as a part of our leadership team, and know he's ready to work on tackling the issues important to families in his district and across the state of Minnesota."

Kresha is a small business owner and resident of Little Falls, where he lives with his wife, Wendy, and their five children.

Kresha is joined by five other Assistant Majority Leaders also elected Tuesday including Representative-elect Dave Baker, R-Willmar, Rep. Deb Kiel, R-Crookston, Rep. Kathy Lohmer, R-Stillwater, Rep. Chris Swedzinski, R-Ghent, and Rep. Tim Sanders, R-Blaine. Additionally, Rep. Dan Fabian, R-Roseau, will serve as Majority Caucus Whip.
