SAINT PAUL, MN—On Thursday, August 9, 2018, Rep. Marion O’Neill, R-Maple Lake, was appointed to the Legislative Energy Commission, replacing retiring Majority Leader Joyce Peppin, R-Rogers.
The LEC, which was first formed in 2008, evaluates and monitors state energy policy, energy-related legislation, and the impacts of policy on both the environment and economy. Rep. O’Neill, who serves on the Job Growth and Energy Affordability Policy and Finance Committee in the Minnesota House, has been a strong advocate of commonsense energy policy in our state that protects consumers and helps lower costs for families.
“It’s a privilege to be named to the Legislative Energy Commission, and join my fellow legislators from both sides of the aisle to work on important energy issues in our state,” said Rep. O’Neill. “We want to ensure energy is affordable and reliable for consumers, and I will continue to champion energy-related policies in Minnesota that put ratepayers, families and hardworking taxpayers first.”
