ST. PAUL, Minn. – State Representative John Petersburg (R-Waseca) will host a public listening session on Minnesota’s health insurance exchange, known as MNsure, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22 at the Owatonna Public Library's Gainey Room, 105 North Elm Avenue.
The listening session will address recent increases in health insurance rates. State Representative Greg Davids, who chairs the MNsure Legislative Oversight Committee, will also attend to receive input from local citizens regarding how MNsure is working.
“We want to hear how MNsure has been working for area residents," Petersburg said. "Health care insurance is a complicated subject and we need to better understand how effective the program has been.”
Since January 2014, purchasing health insurance coverage is mandatory for most adults and their children under federal law as a result of the Affordable Care Act.
