St. Paul - Minnesota's 2023 Legislative Session officially began January 3 with John Petersburg (R-Waseca) and 133 other state representatives being sworn into office during a ceremony at the State Capitol.
"It’s truly an honor to serve the residents of Waseca and Steele counties, and I look forward to continue fighting on their behalf in the Minnesota House,” Petersburg said.
Most of Rep. Petersburg’s work during the first months of session will take place in House committees. Petersburg was recently named the Republican lead on the Minnesota House Transportation Finance Committee, and he will also serve on the Minnesota House Housing Finance and Policy and Ways and Means committees.
Petersburg represents Minnesota House District 19B, which includes the cities of Waseca, Owatonna and Medford, along with their surrounding townships.
