Dear Friends,
With election season behind us, I thought Thanksgiving week was an appropriate time to resume my periodic email updates. I am deeply grateful to our community for the trust you've placed in me to represent our area for another term at the legislature. I'm now looking forward to 2015 when the legislative session will begin and we head back to St. Paul to work hard on your behalf.
As in my first term, I'm here first and foremost to serve you. Please don't hesitate to contact my office by email at rep.john.petersburg@house.mn or by phone at 651-296-5368. I always look forward to hearing your comments, concerns, suggestions and ideas for how we can continue moving Minnesota forward.
Come 2015, Republicans will be in control of the House at the legislature. We will remain focused on key issues that are important to Minnesota families; creating good paying jobs, improving our education system for Minnesota students, expanding and improving care for seniors, and improving our roads and bridges across the state.
After 2 years of serving in the minority, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to serve in the majority, where my GOP colleagues and I will be able to more easily advance legislation and the good ideas that come from our districts. Committee assignments will be made in the coming weeks, and will be sure to update you once they are announced. I hope to return again as a member of the House Transportation Finance and Policy after having served on those committees during the 2013-2014 sessions so I can continue my work on Highway 14 and other transportation priorities in our district and across the state.
We have a great deal to be thankful for here in Minnesota, and I hope you and your family have a Thanksgiving filled with love and gratitude.
Best wishes,
John Petersburg
State Representative, District 24A
