Legislative Update (3-11-16)

Friday, March 11, 2016
Dear Neighbors,
Lawmakers returned to St. Paul on Tuesday for the start of the 2016 legislative session. As has been well documented, this year’s session is set to be the shortest in recent history due to ongoing capitol renovations.
There is no doubt that the intensity will be turned up as we have a short 10-week window to address the top issues facing the legislature.
Chief among my priorities this year is meaningful tax relief for all Minnesotans and a comprehensive transportation plan that addresses our aging roads and bridges—all without raising the gas tax.
In addition to tax relief and transportation, I continue to work on the buffer bill and strengthening our communities through increased Local Government Aid (LGA).
Please be sure to keep an eye on your email inbox as I will be sending newsletters throughout the session to keep you updated on all the news out of St. Paul.
Here are some other ways to stay in touch with what’s happening in St. Paul:
–Live video feed of select committee hearings as well as floor sessions

A nonpartisan publication from the Minnesota House of Representatives Public Information Department
