ST. PAUL, MN – Jeff Backer (R-Browns Valley) took the oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives Tuesday, January 3, 2017 during the swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol.
Backer was elected to his second term in November to represent District 12A, which encompasses Big Stone, Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, and Wilkin counties. Backer is serving on the Environment & Natural Resources Policy and Finance, and Health & Human Services Finance committees. Backer is also the Vice-Chair of the Agriculture Policy committee.
“I am happy to be back,” said Backer. “We have a lot of work to do for rural Minnesota and I am ready to get started.”
Backer is a small business owner and lives with his family in Browns Valley.
