Browns Valley, MN – State Representative Jeff Backer, R-Browns Valley, issued the following statement in regards to a grain elevator fire in the town of Clinton that began yesterday. According to county officials, the fire was under control as of Sunday evening. More than 12 agencies responded to the fire with additional farmers from the area providing water tankers to help subdue the fire.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Clinton, first responders, and the entire region as we begin to rebuild after this terrible accident. I remain in constant contact with local officials and am ready to offer any state assistance they may need. Despite this tragic fire, I am nevertheless greatly inspired by the actions of surrounding communities that dropped everything to help a small town in need. This area of Minnesota is tight knit, we care about our neighbors, and I am confident that Clinton will come back from this incident stronger than ever.”
