Dear Neighbors,
Ambulance services across Greater Minnesota are in crisis and badly need the help of the legislature to make sure that they can continue to operate and provide life-saving services for all of us.
This week, I formally introduced legislation to provide emergency aid funding to help cover the shortfalls that are impacting EMS providers across the state.
There’s no doubt that structural changes to the entire EMS model are badly needed. Those structural adjustments and the conversations around these changes can happen in the future. With EMS operators in crisis, we need to get this emergency funding to them right now.
Click here or the photo below to watch a brief video discussing my proposal.
Additionally, I joined Republican Leader, Lisa Demuth, at a news conference calling on Gov. Walz to support our funding proposal. You can watch that news conference here.
As we discuss EMS and ambulance services, I wanted to encourage all of you to learn CPR.
Please take a moment to watch the brief video below where I share a story about an emergency that occurred over the weekend that I was dispatched to as an volunteer EMT and the importance that CPR played in saving this person's life.
Thank you to the local folks with CAPLP Child Care Connections for visiting with Rep. Tom Murphy and myself in St. Paul this week.
Stan Carignan from Habitat for Humanity was in town this week, thanks for visiting!
