Dear Friends,
Thanks to the number of local folks who took time to visit me in St. Paul this week. I was visited by a wide variety of groups including the Farm Bureau, Ridgewater nursing students, and the YMCA.
If you are planning on being in St. Paul this year, I encourage you to contact my office to set up a time to meet. It would be great to visit with you!
Broadband Expansion Efforts
On Thursday, leaders in the House released adjusted budget targets that include historic investments in broadband expansion. When combined with federal funding that is already on the way, Minnesota could see over $100 million in broadband expansion investments next year!
If you’d like to hear more of my thoughts regarding broadband you can watch a segment from TPT’s Almanac at the Capitol where I discussed broadband expansion with Senator Matt Schmit. You can watch our segment here which begins at the 13:50 mark.
CAHBS Update
I continue to meet with legislators and state agency officials to find a solution to the problems facing the CAHBS or “Kids State Hospital” that is in danger of closing.
KSTP ran a story this week regarding the hospital and what may happen if it closes its doors. You can watch that segment here.
Stay in Touch
As is the case most Saturdays, I will be on KWLM tomorrow morning for Legislative Review. I encourage you to listen and call in with your questions!
Additionally, I was on WCCO with Chad Hartman this week to discuss opioid abuse prevention. You can check out the interview here.
